From June 1, Sibiu’s newest sports and entertainment facility will open on Lake Binder after investing 12.4 million lei from the local budget, Sibiu City Hall announced on Friday.
“By transforming, we have turned the marginal area into an attractive place to spend free time. In addition to water sports and many other recreational activities, Binder Lake has become a beautiful natural area with the planting of more than 180 trees, shrubs and 5,000 square meters of grass on the shores. The recreation complex will open on June 1, as it is their birthday, the children will have free admission, “said the mayor of Sibiu, Astrid Fodor.
Even if they have free admission, according to the Regulations, children under 14 have access to the Complex only with adults.
At Lake Binder you can enjoy water sports such as wakeboarding, water skiing, canoeing. The necessary equipment can be rented from the hotel. Wakeboarding և water skiing ropeway is the only cable of its kind in Transylvania.
Tourists can relax under the sun, this is the first sandy beach of Sibiu with an area of 1900 square meters. On the beach, in addition to sun loungers, umbrellas, there are two volleyball courts and a children’s playground. Another second large playground is the inflatable playground, which is located on the water, in the bath area, which can be enjoyed not only by children but also by adults.
There is also a green beach, but tourists can also relax on the panoramic balcony or in the alleyway around the lake. They have a special pavement made of quartz sand և epoxy resin. There are benches in the alleys, taps with drinking water, and at night they are lit by LED lamps. Green areas have been organized on the shore of the lake through the program.
You can do sport fishing with different types of fish living in the lake, which proves that the water is clean.
The bath area is separated from the area for water sports by lighthouses, the rescuer will always follow the activities of the lake and the rescue boat. Those who do water sports will be equipped with life jackets. In case of falling water, fixed pontoons have been installed – a floating pontoon, as well as a video surveillance system for the safety of tourists, which will allow monitoring the entire area of the Complex. The water in the lake is checked every 2 weeks by the Public Health Department.
